Women in Black Network from Serbia is joining the worldwide protests condemning the escalation of conflicts in the Middle East ...
We have always called for a political solution to this conflict and for the establishment of a just and sustainable peace. Therefore we reject one-sided and partial solutions, those which advocate the use of violence and force.
The recent aggression of the Israeli forces against Lebanon represents an act of revenge against the civilian population of Lebanon, punishing them for Hezbollah’s military actions. The initial actions were a desperate attempt to coerce the release of twelve thousand Arab political prisoners in Israeli prisons in exchange for captive Israeli soldiers. The result of resorting to violence to resolve this problem is the beginning of new bloodshed and mass suffering of innocent civilians.
We are answering the call of our friends, Women in Black from Israel, to join them in a protest of solidarity against the violence in the Middle East.
Let us stop the war! Let us stop the bloodshed!
For just and sustainable peace!
