Report on activites January-May 2012.

As we have done in the past, we are providing you with a short report on the activities of Women in Black in the reporting period. Street actions: In this reporting period, we have organized:
- commemorations\marking of important dates of the crimes committed in our name
- feminist, antifa, antiwar, antirasist, antimilitary...

12th, 15th and 19th of February, Belgrade `Solidarity not mercy`: an action of providing help, in solidarity with with vulnerable Roma population of Belgrade, in the settlement of Belville, who were affected by dreadful weather, during February 2012 we had above mention solidarity actions,

27th of February, Belgrade, peace action: `Remembering the train of death-we will never forget crimes in Strpce.` Namely, members of the unit `Avengers` as a part of Republic of Srpska army, on the station `Strpci`, on 27th of February, 1993., took with them out of the train nb 671, on the railway Belgrade-Bar, passengers of Muslim nationality, 18 of them and one Croat, in order to executed them. Standing on the entrance of the central railway station, where literary and metaphorically, departed the death train, we have marked the ninetieth anniversary of tragedy, while thirty Women in Black activists participated.

8ht of March, Belgrade: `Neither redundant nor obedient and rebellious in solidarity` was consisted of numerous actions:

Public reading\report from the terrain: about women in Serbia: regarding violation of their labour rights, in Serbia and all over the world, because of what we have honored women who have marked the past by revolt, activists expressed their revolt against discrimination, patriarchy and economical crimes against women,

Street marsh of women: starting from Republic square to `Rex` Cultural Center and the main slogan was:`Neither redundant nor obedient and rebellious in solidarity` also followed by the one:`No whores, nor saints-women and friends.`

Placing commemorative plaques for Ksenija Atanasijevic: philosopher, feminist and antifa oriented, in 49. Jovanova Str. Street marsh of women continued toward `Rex` Cultural center, in Jevrejska Str., where we have conducted other activities connected to labour rights of women, ect. In the street marsh were involved couple of hundreds of women from Belgrade and all over Serbia.

23d of March, Belgrade:`Permanent mark of crimes`: the action against the erection of the monument both to victims and defenders of the country on Sava Square in Belgrade. Thirty activists, friends of Women in Black, gathered on 23d of March at 13 o`clock in front of the Assembley of Belgrade, in the name of protest against the erection of this monument. Women in Black consider it, erected by the government, to be one symbol more, of the continuity of the regime of Slobodan Milosevic, because it equalizes victims and executors, distorts historical facts, denies responsibility of Serbia for wars, ect. It is important to mention that there were present parents of men who were mobilised by force. Our appeal was supported this time by civil organizations from all over Serbia as well as around hundred citizens from the whole region.

23d of March, Belgrade: `Stop war criminal rehabilitation`: Protest of Women in Black in front of Court building in Belgrade, due to announced rehabilitation of Chetnics leader during Second World War.

6th of April, Belgrade: `Twenty years since the war and the aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina`: Women in Black have marked twenty years since the armed aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina. We held the placards with the inscription of the places where occured crimes against citizens of Bosnian and Croatian nationality and where concentration camps where situated.

23d of April, Belgrade: The action of solidarity `Why?` Marking of a day to remember sixteen media workers, who lost their lives during NATO bombing in 1999., this action was organized by the parents of those who have been killed and Women in Black joined them. Once more we asked for the responsibility of NATO pact countries as well as of the management of Serbian Radio Television...
