Activity report for the period September - December 2017

As we have done in the past, we are providing you with a short report on the activities of Women in Black in the reporting period.

We would like to thank you in advance, in solidarity.

Street actions: In this reporting period we organized nineteen (19) actions, and we also actively participated in other street actions:
- Commemorations / marking significant dates of crimes committed in our name
- Feminist, anti-fascist, anti-war, anti-racist, anti-militarist actions ...

Commemoration/marking of important dates of crimes committed in our name, as well as other crimes against civilian population, during and after wars, on the territory of former Yugoslavia:

Belgrade, October 5th „We remember“ - on the occasion of 13 years since the murder of two soldiers (Dragan Jakovljević i Dražen Milovanović) in military barracks in Topcider (5. 10. 2004), the Women in Black visited the crime scene together with the families of the killed soldiers, where they laid flowers.

Belgrade, October 5th “We will never forget the crime in Topcider” - on the same day, we organized a peace action wearing black and in silence, in Knez Mihailova Street.
At the protest were the following prominent banners: „We will never forget the crime in Topcider“, „We remember Dragan Jakovljević; We remember Dražen Milovanović; Women in Black for Peace and Justice; Women in Black for Peace and Human Rights“.
This action was attended by some twenty (20) activists.

Belgrade, October 22nd “We remember - 25 years of crime in Sjeverin” - on the 25th anniversary of the crime in Sjeverin, where on October 22nd 1992 seventeen (17) Bosniaks were abducted and killed, Women in Black organized a vigil wearing black and in silence in Knez Mihailova Street in Belgrade. At the vigil were the following banners:
Sjeverin – 22.10.1992; 16 banners with the names of the passengers and a banner We remember the crime in Sjeverin. The action was attended by twenty (20) activists.

Belgrade, November 18th „We will never forget crimes in Vukovar“ - On the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the fall of Vukovar, on November 18th, 2017, in Knez Mihailova Street, Women in Black, wearing black and in silence, organized a peace action during which the following banners were held: We will never forget the crimes in Vukovar; Responsibility; Women in Black for Peace and Justice. About thirty (30) activists, both from Women in Black and the Youth Initiative for Human Rights, took part in the action.
