As we have done in the past, we are providing you with a short report on the activities of Women in Black in the reporting period.

Street actions: In this reporting period we organized seven (7) events,and we also actively participated in other street actions
- commemoration/marking important dates of crimes committed in our names;
- Feminist, anti-fascist, anti-war, anti-racist, anti-militaristic actions...
Commemoration / marking of important dates of crimes committed in our name, as well as other crimes against civilian population, during and after wars, in the territory of the former Yugoslavia:
May 24th, Kruševac “We Remember the Brave Resistance of Women!” - Women’s organization "Peščanik" from Kruševac and Women in Black, Belgrade marked the anniversary of the May women’s protest against forced mobilization in (May 24, 1999) By this peace action, organized on the occasion of May 24th – International Day of Women’s Action for Peace and Disarmament, activists recalled the courageous resistance of women to mobilization and war in Kosovo. Once again, on this occasion, a request was sent to the state of Serbia and the local administration in the Rasina District to declare May 24 as the Day of Remembrance of the May protests and brave resistance of the citizens of Kruševac and the Rasina District.
In this vigil was displayed during We Remember and peace symbol made by white roses; in this action participated 12 women from Kruševac as well as from Belgrade.
Belgrade, June 19 “We remember war raped women!” –On the occasion of June 19 – International Day of Struggle against Sexual Violence in War, Women in Black, the Autonomous Women’s Center and Youth Initiative for Human Rights organized a protest in mourning and silence in Republic square.
The following banners were displayed during the vigil:
- June 19 – International Day of Struggle against Sexual Violence in War
- Map of the former Yugoslavia with states and cities where, among other things, rapes were committed
- Map of the world with today’s war conø icts, in which, among other things, acts of sexual violence are committed
- Members of Serbian armed formations committed the largest number of rapes in the war
- The law in Serbia does not recognize women raped in war as civilian victims of war
In this action took part 23 activists.
Belgrade, July 10, 2025 „We shall never forget the Srebrenica genocide!” -On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, Women in Black organized a vigil in mourning and silence in Republic Square.
In this vigil the following banners were displayed:
- We shall never forget the genocide in Srebrenica!
- Srebrenica – the name of genocide
- Responsibility
- Solidarity
- Women in Black and Srebrenica
This action, performed by Women in Black, with the support of art collectives Škart, Dah theatre, as well as activists of civil society, consisted of following segments:
We shall never forget the Srebrenica genocide – the installation of a symbolic/living memorial is the continuation of the construction of a monument to the victims of genocide, since our years-long persistent requests that the construction of a permanent monument to the victims of genocide in Srebrenica in Belgrade be approved were rejected.
During the public action in mourning and silence, the stage action:
“Serbia, look at yourself in the mirror: You will see Srebrenica! - 30 years – 30 years of mirrors“ – 30 people came to the Square holding 30 mirrors.
